ALFONSO MENDOZ VASQUEZ, 81, was born to
Emeterio & Florencia Vasquez on Oct. 30, 1943 in
Ranger, TX. The Lord called him home on Oct. 3,
2025, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Alfonso was known to many as Al, Fonzie, or Poncho.
He lived in Ranger in the early years of his life
attending Ranger High School in the Class of 1963.
He served in the U.S. Army and National Guard, moved
to the Metroplex where he worked for Tappan Appliances,
and when he retired worked as a security guard. One
of his proudest accomplishments was working for Tappan
for over 20 years and getting an award for never missing
a day of work.
He was loving, kind, and always had a good story to
tell. He never met a stranger because he could always
strike up a conversation with anyone. He loved to listen
to music, ride around in his black pickup truck, go
fishing, and spoiling his grandkids.
