Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1963

Alfonso Vasquez ALFONSO MENDOZ VASQUEZ, 81, was born to Emeterio & Florencia Vasquez on Oct. 30, 1943 in Ranger, TX. The Lord called him home on Oct. 3, 2025, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Alfonso was known to many as Al, Fonzie, or Poncho. He lived in Ranger in the early years of his life attending Ranger High School in the Class of 1963. He served in the U.S. Army and National Guard, moved to the Metroplex where he worked for Tappan Appliances, and when he retired worked as a security guard. One of his proudest accomplishments was working for Tappan for over 20 years and getting an award for never missing a day of work. He was loving, kind, and always had a good story to tell. He never met a stranger because he could always strike up a conversation with anyone. He loved to listen to music, ride around in his black pickup truck, go fishing, and spoiling his grandkids. Alfonso is survived by his wife Debbie Vasquez, daughters: Amy Vasquez and partner Many Hernandez, Melissa Pooh Vasquez, Rita Hendrix and husband Jason Hendrix, step- children: Jason Honea and wife Kristen Honea, Rebecca Pope and husband Mike Pope, grandchildren: Peanut, Pops, Missy, Bella, Lilliy, Milly, Iza, Chico, Nolan, Alyssa, Sarah, great-grandson Addonis, sister Fern Vasquez (RHS- 1967), brothers Luis Vasquez and Junior Vasquez, and numerous nieces & nephews. Alfonso is preceded in death by father Emerterio Vasquez, mother Florencia Vasquez, brothers Cruz Vasquez (RHS-1955) & John Vasquez (RHS-1967), sisters Nancy Vasquez Mayo (RHS- 1961), Hilary Vasquez (RHS-1961), & Teresa Ponce (RHS-1973).
