HELEN FAYE BLACKWELL COOPER, 81, a
beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend,
peacefully passed away on August 28, 2025,
surrounded by her family in Eastland, TX, with
inurment at Crossroads Cemetery near Ranger, TX.
Born on Oct. 23, 1943 in Gorman, TX to O.E. "Jack"
(RHS-1933) & Marie (Nerger) Blackwell, Helen spent
her formative years in Ranger, where she graduated
from Ranger High School in 1962. She was a member
of the Mesquite & Rusk Church of Christ.
For over 13 years, Helen owned & operated Tumbleweed,
a cherished antique store in downtown Eastland, where
her passion for collecting antiques flourished. Her
shop was not just a business, but a testament to her
love for history and craftsmanship, inviting many
into a world of nostalgia and charm.
Helen's legacy lives on through her daughter, Lisa
Sanchez, and her husband, Abel Jr., of Garland; her
three grandchildren, Desiree Nunez, Abel Sanchez III,
and Cody Sanchez; and her two great-grandchildren,
Vincent and P.J. She is also survived by her two
brothers, Jerry Blackwell (RHS-1974) and his wife,
Mary, of Eastland and Jimmy Blackwell (RHS-1971) of
Ranger, as well as her nephew, Chance Simpson, his
wife Susan, and his children Adalynn and Jackson.
Helen was preceded in death by her loving parents,
Jack & Marie Blackwell; her son, Lance Cooper; and
her sister, Charlene Blackwell Simpson (RHS-1963).
