Yvonne Hennon Blackburn YVONNE "VONN" HENNON BLACKBURN, 87, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on Nov. 20, 2025 in San Angelo, TX. Born on Jan. 29, 1938 in Olney, TX, Vonn was a woman of intelligence and grace, whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew her. She spent her formative years in the heart of Texas, graduating from Ranger High School in the Class of 1956 at Ranger, TX. She carried the spirit of her small-town roots throughout her life, embodying the strong values & work ethic that were instilled in her from a young age. Vonn's professional journey was marked by her passion for the equestrian world, serving as a respected Horse Racing Secretary to Manor Downs in Manor, TX, and Bandera Downs in Bandera, TX. Her keen eye and expertise also led her to the role of Placing Judge and Daily Form Reporter at Delta Downs in Vinton, LA. Her commitment to her work was evident in the precision and care she took in every task. As a devout Christian, Vonn lived her faith through her actions, touching the lives of many with her kindness and unwavering support. She will be lovingly remembered by her family, including her sons Ben Yarbrough of San Angelo, and Bobby Blackburn and his wife Shannon of Oklahoma City, OK. Though her beloved husband, John David Blackburn, and her dear parents, Anna and Albert Hennon, as well as her cherished grandmother, Tinne Lee, predeceased her, their legacy of love continues through Vonn's memory. Vonn's creative spirit shone brightly through her love of painting ceramics. Her artistic touch brought beauty into the world and joy into the hearts of her family and friends. A true Texan at heart, Vonn found pleasure in the simple joys of life, like fishing and indulging in the nostalgia of old westerns on television. Her long-term friend & companion, Dan Mitchell of Abilene, TX, along with a host of brothers and sisters-in-law, their children, & countless friends, will miss Vonn's gentle spirit and nurturing presence. Vonn's life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of family bonds. Vonn Blackburn's legacy is one of love, intelligence, and selflessness. She navigated life with a quiet strength and an open heart, leaving an indelible mark on the world. As we reflect on her life, we are reminded of the light she brought into our lives and the enduring impact of her generous spirit. Vonn's memory will be cherished and kept alive by the many lives she touched. We take solace in knowing that her legacy will continue to inspire and guide us, just as the stars continue to shine even after they have faded from view.
