Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1954 RJC

Jim Falk JAMES E. "JIM" FALK of Pittsburg, TX, went to be with Jesus on March 7, 2025 (at almost 90 years of age). He was born on May 28, 1935 in Ranger, TX to Gustavus (Gus) Herman Falk & Ada Elizabeth Rose Falk. Jim grew up in Ranger and graduated from Ranger High School in 1954 (State Football Champs his senior year). He furthered his education at Ranger Jr. College and Southern Methodist University (SMU). In high school, he worked at Ranger Drive-In & his summers at Texas & Pacific Railroad. He worked at the National Accelerator Laboratory, Batavia, IL., ALCOA Conductor Product, Marshall, TX, and proudly served as an electronic engineer all over the world with Continental Electronics Corporation, and was often called upon to do special jobs. In 1957, Jim married the love of his life, Betty Jo Attaway. Jim loved his family and friends and was a faithful member of the local Baptist Church wherever he lived. Under the leadership of Pastor Massagee, Jim made a decision to follow Christ as a young boy of 11 years old in the Royal Ambassador program at Second Baptist Church of Ranger. He loved teaching & training others to be leaders in the Royal Ambassador program (so that young boys and men could learn more about what it meant to be "on mission" with God.) Jim was also a charter member of the Cypress Basin Master Gardeners Association in Mount Pleasant, TX; and loved working in the gardens with his wife Betty. Jim, in his young adult years, loved to fish, hunt quail and pheasant, and go skeet shooting. His favorite vacations were going on camping trips with his wife and kids. During his retirement years he loved gardening & keeping their lawn in shape. Jim was a wonderful grandfather and great grandfather and looked forward with joy to the kid's visits where he read stories to them, taught them to play croquet and chess, and took them on rides in the trailer of his John Deere tractor, as well as frequent visits to the Dallas Botanical Garden. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Gus and Ada Falk, his brother Gene Falk (RHS-1944) and his sister Margie Falk Lasiter (RHS-1946). Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Jo Falk; his brother Ray Falk (RHS-1955); his sons and daughters-in-law: Frederick and Melinda Falk, Duane and Kristy Falk; and his daughter and son-in-law Delaina & Todd Hammock; his grandchildren and their spouses: Amber & Nathan Hale, Adriane Renee Falk, & Brandon and Sarah Falk; and his great grandchildren: Jensen, Selah, and Gwyneth Hale, Leilani and Wallace Falk; & his cousin Betty Parrish and numerous nieces & nephews (many who knew him as Uncle Jamie).
