Roy Barnhill ROY EUGENE BARNHILL, 76, died Jan. 11, 2013, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, TX. Roy was born on Feb. 24, 1936 at Altus, OK, to Robert E. & Marry Ann (Pierce) Barnhill. The family moved back to Texas where he was raised and attended school in Ranger, graduating from Ranger High School in 1954 and Ranger Jr. College. He served in the National Guard and married Cleo Laird in November of 1958 at Dallas. They made their home in Ranger where Roy worked restoring old cars. He had served on the Ranger School Board. Roy is survived by his wife, Cleo of the home, a daughter, Susan Barnhill (RHS-1978) and husband Robert Rogers of Ranger and a host of friends & other relatives. WIFE: CLEO ESTELLE LAIRD BARNHILL, 88, of Ranger, TX, ascended to her eternal resting place on Dec. 28, 2025, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery at Ranger. She was born on April 29, 1937, in Dallas, TX, to James Cleo Laird & Geneva Estelle Oliver Laird. Cleo lived a life marked by devotion to her family, service to her church, and an unwavering commitment to her community. In Nov. of 1958, Cleo married the love of her life, Roy Eugene Barnhill, and together they built a loving home in Ranger. Cleo dedicated many years of her life to serving others, working at Killingsworth Funeral Home and later at Edwards Funeral Home, where her compassion for families in their time of need shone brightly. A cherished member of the United Pentecostal Church in Ranger, Cleo served as the church secretary for over 50 years, embodying the spirit of service and leadership. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and her contributions to the church community will be deeply missed. Cleo was known for her immaculate home & her beautifully manicured lawn, which she tended to with love & meticulous care. She was a nurturing and supportive presence in the lives of those around her, leaving a legacy of love and kindness. Cleo will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Susan Rogers, and her husband, Robert. She is survived by five sisters: Joyce Franklin and her husband Gary, Marie Jenkins and her husband Willard, Esther Wilkins, Judy Coggins, and Aniece Brumit, as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews who cherished their time with her. Cleo was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy; and two brothers and two sisters, who welcomed her with open arms in eternal life. Cleo Estelle Barnhill's legacy of faith, love, and service will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered as a pillar of strength and grace in her family and community.
