VIVIAN LEE CRENSHAW SIMPSON, 89, passed
away at her home in Fort Worth, TX after a short
battle with leukemia, with burial in Evergreen
Cemetery at Ranger, TX.
She was born on Aug. 12, 1918, in Carrollton, TX.
Vivian attended Ranger High School in the Class
of 1937. She married Wayne Ebbie Simpson in 1949
in San Antonio, TX. She was a longtime resident
of Ranger & worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone
Company for 20 years before retiring. She loved
her family and home and took great joy in caring
for them. She was a member of the First Baptist
Church of Ranger and a Past Worthy Matron of the
Order of the Eastern Star.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband,
Wayne.
She is survived by her son LTC. Larry L. Simpson
& wife, Pam, and her grandchildren Robert and
Meggan of Ft. Worth.
HUSBAND: WAYNE E. SIMPSON, 81, welder
for Lone Star Gas Co. from 1935-72, died April 23,
1998, with buril in Evergreen Cemetery at Ranger,
TX.
Wayne was born in Thurber, TX where he graduated
from high school, and served with the U.S. Army Air
Corps in the India-Burma and China theaters during
WWII. He married Vivian Crenshaw in 1949 in San
Antonio. He moved to Ranger in 1949 & was a member
of Ranger Masonic Lodge 738 & First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Ranger; one son, Lt.
Col. Larry Simpson of Fort Worth, TX; two grand-
children; one nephew and several cousins.
